Public spaces in NYC often overlook the needs of neurodivergent individuals, contributing to exclusion and social isolation. As the city becomes more diverse, there is an urgent need for environments that support a wider range of sensory and emotional experiences. The Neurodiverse City is an initiative to co-create sensory-friendly street prototypes with neurodivergent communities to inform scalable design guidelines to create more inclusive, supportive public spaces citywide.
